FireKracker 5k Ignited The Fourth!
Almost 2,000 participants in the Citizens 5k, Elite 5k, and Kids 1-Mile made this a “sparkler” of an event.
The FireKracker 5k kicked off the Fourth of July festivities in Fort Collins with a backdrop of perfect weather (temperatures in the 70s), a stirring National Anthem by the Fort Collins’ symphony, a vibrant energy in the crowd, and enthusiastic runners numbering almost 2,000 … all combined to create an unforgettable holiday experience!
record-breaking course performance (see photos below) added to the thrill of the day, and wonderful, creative — and often hilarious — costumes were sported by participants, children, puppies, and spectators. The face-painting and temporary tattoo booth drew in people of all ages, who emerged displaying stars, stripes, and patriotic face and body art.
